Overview - Word Components

Make studying more interesting by finding out where words come from. Looking at words this way can also make them easier to memorize.

Break down words into parts. Build up words into compounds and phrases. All you have to do is look up a word in the dictionary. Click on it. At the top of the screen you will see all these options.

For some languages (English, Chinese, Japanese), you can see a list of roots/radicals that form the base of many other words.

Even when you know the parts, some word are just tough to memorize. Other members may be able to help you.
